This is your opportunity to own a genuine piece of San Diego, California history. This book was distributed by the County Clerk of San Diego County when a prospective bride and groom secured their Marriage License from the County Clerk's office. The publishing of this Bride's Book was in part funded by the selling of advertising within it. Some examples of the advertising are San Diego Consolidated Gas and Electric Company, Kelley Laundry, Arrow Market, Irish and Waters, Chiropractors, and many other advertisers. As you can see in the images, even the three coupons are still bound into this copy of the Bride's book. This book was published by The Arts and Crafts Press Printers who were still in business until about six or seven years ago. This book will appeal to anyone interested in the history of the City of San Diego, as well as the County of San Diego. This is truly a historical document! Another audience that will find this book desirable will be collectors of cookbooks, as this book has many recipes too.
This copy of "The Bride's Book of Household Economy" is in good condition considering it's ninety-five years old. The only marks made by the previous owner were in the back of the book in some expense record pages. This book has been well used, and is soiled and slightly stained. There is some minor chipping of the covers, and most of the corners have been bumped. It is approximately 9" in height and 6" in width, and there are 96 numbered pages.
