1916 Reverse Convex Painting

c. 1916 Reverse Convex (bubble glass) Painting of "The Statue of Liberty". The application process for this medium is unique, because the artist applies the paint, directly on the glass and the scene itself, is painted backwards. When the glass painting is mounted in the frame, the picture will be viewed forward, as any picture would be This incredible piece of art, was created at "The Chicago Portrait Company" in 1916 by an unknown artist, as this is an unsigned painting. Mounted in an oval, tiger wood frame, of the same period, this eye catching creation is certain, to evoke plenty of conversation. Both the painting and frame, are in very good condition considering, the age of the painting. It is not uncommon, for reverse paint to slip over time, this type of wear is to be expected, in this medium. Fortunately, this painting has done quite well and has only a couple of bald area's, quite small in size and of no real significance, to the overall value. All in all, this is a beautiful, well kept example of, American Art and a nice collectors' piece.
