American White Cross/Band Aid/Tin

One of the very first, flip top, tin, designs, released to the consumer, in the field of first aid. The self sticking/sterile strips, had already been coined, "Band Aid" and prior to the release, of this water proof tin, were available only in, cardboard containers, both rectangular and round. At this early stage, Band Aid's were produced and marketed, by the "American Red Cross" company, a U.S. icon, in the medical arena. This tin, was manufactured in, New Rochell, N.Y,. during the mid, to late 1950's and is in, excellent condition. There are a few, small, superficial, dents & dings, minor rust, and slight fading, on the left, side panel. The lid opens and closes effortlessly, with out any binding and both the inside and bottom, are in excellent shape. Some original Band Aids remain. A neat item, by an American Corp. known world wide...that still thrives, today!
