Black German Red Cross Sisterhood Oval Badge - circa 1935 - from DustyMillerAntiques

This antique badge is called a "German Red Cross Sisterhood (of nursing)" or "DEUTSCHES ROTES KREUZ / SCHWESTERNSCHAFT" manufactured by Christian Theodor Dicke Ludenscheid (C.T.D.) circa 1935.  This black oval badge was worn by a Wardmaster Nurse. It is constructed of silvered bronze with multi-colored enamels, the obverse bearing a central white enameled oval disc, overlaid by a German Red Cross - (DRK) style German national eagle clutching a Geneva Cross and overlaid by a mobile swastika, within a black outer border bearing a silvered inscription of "DEUTSCHES ROTES KREUZ SCHWESTERNSCHAFT" ("GERMAN RED CROSS SISTERHOOD"). The back side has a clip hinge and rounded catch, stamped with an identification number of "2865" and the maker's mark logo of Christian Theodor Dicke, Lüdenscheid (CTD) measuring 1.75" w x 1.25" h. A nice addition to your German Nazi Red Cross, medical or Nazi era memorabilia!

The badge is in very good condition: minimal tarnish to silver lettering and to the back side. No broken, missing or repaired parts. Satisfaction guaranteed.
