This antique piece of sheet music is called "Sam, The Old Accordion Man" composed by Walter Donaldson in 1927 and published by Leo Feist Inc., New York. The cover was illustrated by John V. Ranck and shows an old black man playing an accordion with children dancing and a paddle boat in the background. A photo of Cornell (conductor of Beaux Arts Orchestra) is on the lower right corner of the cover. The genre is a novelty fox trot. It is an oversized piece of sheet music measuring 9.25" w x 12" h. A great piece to add to your Black Americana or fox trot music collection!
The sheet music is in excellent condition: minimal soil and wear; intact spine. Otherwise, no writing, tears, sun fading or repairs. It is odor free. A great piece to frame or a good working copy. Satisfaction guaranteed.
