Extremely Rare Sofa made by Harvey Probber Original Label {Still attached}: Lic No. Mass 431 Origin: American Made Circa: late 1970's/early 1980's Everything is original, from inside to out- upholstery to bases, and they all are in very solid condition. Pictures don't do this justice- in actuality, the sofa looks smoother and the front does not look 'wrinkly' as it appears in some photos!! The extremely plush and soft sofa is contoured with gathered seams and has a truly incredible architectural design. I can honestly say that I have never sat in a more comfortable sofa. Approx. Measurements: 78"W x 14"H [seat] 29"H [back] x 36"D [back to front] Condition: Nice and clean, as you can see. There are some tiny spots on the fabric in a few areas that you have to look closely to see, nothing obvious or detracting. Please see all photos and, if you'd like to see more, just ask- we have very limited space here! In the back, there is a tear at/near one of the seams {see photo} but, obviously, this would never show once it's against a wall. Also, because of where it is {seam} it could very easily be repaired. × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × × History of the Designer: Harvey Probber (1922-2003) was born in Brooklyn, New York, and designed his first sofa at age 16. His pieces had understated modern lines combined with decorative hardware, rare woods and sumptuous upholstery, sometimes in surprisingly bright colors. By the 1970s, Harvey Probber, Inc. had opened trade showrooms in major design centers across the country,[12] and had relinquished the residential market for the larger and more lucrative contract furniture field. During this period, Probber's work was awarded two "Best of Neocon" Gold Awards from the Resources Council of the Institute of Business Designers for the Houston Chair (1977) and the Advent III Customization Program (1981). {credits: mid2mod.blogspot and Wikipedia} drastically reduced- price is FIRM.
