ITALIAN FOLDED RIM Cased Glass Sweetmeat Dish~Barrini~Unusual Lavender with Gold Aventurine~Pinwheel design~1970

Here is an Mid Century Modern Italian art glass sweetmeat dish, unusual lavender colored interior cased in white, with a folded rim, usually attributed to Barrini. The glass has swirls of gold aventurine in the lavender. It measures 7-1/2" by 5-1/4" and has a fully polished ground base. There is no damage to this lovely bowl; however, there is a tiny blob of darkened glass embedded in the glass near the edge.This has been taken into consideration in the price. Could have been an error, or just overlooked at retail... Lavendar is an unusual color for glass and this is a particularly lovely shade when combined with the white casing. The adventurine is muted but still a highlight, as intended. Barini produced many beautiful pieces during this period--this is no exception! Packaged carefully, shipped promptly.
