MID CENTURY MODERN Miniature Hobnail Pitcher-Amberina
LISTED ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2024 - VIEWED 2 TIMES
Mid Century Art Glass was an explosion of color, shape, size and variety. It was also contagiously popular, as more and more companies could produce both nouveau and traditional designs more inexpensively, so that the average American household could afford the beautiful creations. Here is a wonderful tiny Amberina Hobnail Pattern glass pitcher. This is the type and color of glass that makes one happy! The 1950's were a happy time, and the decorations reflected that attitude. Well ordered design of pointed hobs on a gorgeous deep red-orange background with a light and happy yellow handle just begs for a window with sun! It measures only 3" tall and 3" wide, with its beaded edge and beaded handle. Its foot is also citron yellow and the overall effect is simply stunning. Likely made by one of the premier 1960's glasshouses and paper-labelled, which it has lost over the years. Otherwise perfect condition, and surprisingly weighty for its size..
