Sadie is a vintage handmade doll, an African-American girl with so much charm. She has an oilcloth head with a stitched nose and mouth and two black button eyes. Her wispy black hair is topped with a bow that matches her brick red, windowpane check dress, which has a cream felt collar and beige button at the throat. The ruffled sleeves are unbleached muslin that match her pantaloons, which are fastened with string. Sadie's feet and hands are also brown oilcloth. She wears her handwritten name on an oaktag label hung on white string around her neck.
This beautiful black girl doll measures 23 inches long, 5 inches across her waist and weighs just under a pound. Some of the stitching is hand done and some was done by machine. She has definitely been played with, as her clothes are a bit soiled in areas and she shows some wear but no damage. She is ever so appealing and she is looking for a new home where she can be loved.
