Scissor Snipping Noahs Ark Framed Paper Cutting

Scissor Snipping Noahs Ark Framed Paper Cutting
LISTED ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2025 - VIEWED 86 TIMES
This beautiful artwork is an example of Scherenschnitte, a German word that means "scissor snipping." Expertly cut by Regina Walters of Cumming, Georgia, it depicts Noah's Ark at the top, followed by rows of animals, two by two, surrounded by a checkerboard pattern. At the bottom is a favorite saying: "Plan ahead--it wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark." The sheet of cream-colored paper with its designs was laid upon a deep olive green mat that's double cut to an inner cream-colored one.

The wood frame that surrounds this scissor cutting is 1 1/4 inches wide with a dark brown stain. The framed measurements are 13 inches by 16 inches with the paper cutting measuring 9 3/8 inches by 7 3/8 inches. It's signed RW on the lower right front. On the lower right back there's a write-up about scissor cutting by Mrs. Walters' company Designs With Scissors, Inc. which at that time (1990) was located in Atlanta, Georgia. The piece weighs 2 pounds, 3 ounces, has a sawtooth hanger on the back and is in excellent condition with virtually no wear.
